Sir Francis Drake (kk 1540 – 28 Januari, 1596) merupakan tentera upahan (England privateer), pakar pandu arah, wira tentera laut, ahli politik, pedagang hamba-abdi dan jurutera am pada Zaman Elizabeth. Dia merupakan orang Inggeris pertama mengelilingi bumi, dari tahun 1577 sehingga 1580.
Pada tahun 1579, Drake mendarat di utara California, atau kemungkinannya lebih utara di Oregon ataupun Barat Laut Pasifik (lokasi sebenar masih diperdebatkan oleh ahli sejarah) dan menuntut tanah sebagai "Nova Albion" untuk takhta England. Peta yang dihasilkan selepas itu mempunyai "Nova Albion" ditulis bagi keseluruhan sempadan utara New Spain.
